Throckmorton is a Decatur, Ga.-based duo that presents witty, original and thoughtful performances. Alan Thornton is a singer/songwriter and musician whose love for Atlanta is captured in his original songs. He sings and plays ukulele, banjolele, harmonica and guitar and is gifted at improv and audience engagement. He writes songs with people from all over the world. He has also led songwriting workshops which are popular at the Tampa Bay Ukulele Getaway, Brown County Uke Fest, Ukulele World Congress and other events. He is an admin for the Original Ukulele Songs Facebook page - an online gathering of songwriters from around the world. Terri Thornton is a singer, songwriter and ukulele player. She specializes in the U-bass – a small but powerful ukulele that sounds like a bass guitar. Talented friends from the ukulele community often join them for live performances.

P.S. Why the name “Throckmorton?” (Hint: don’t Google it.) The amazing Mike “Uncle Elvis” Hind, leading an open mic, couldn’t read our hand-writing on the damp sign-up sheet, which said “Thornton.” It became our nickname, and we kinda like it. : )
